God's Word
Every time you open your Bible, you’re reading the living and active word of God (Hebrews 4:12). It is the primary way He speaks to us, and is essential reading for seekers and believers of truth.
2 Timothy 3:16-17 (NLT) says:
“All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realise what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work.”
If you want to learn more about Jesus and follow Him, reading the Bible daily is an essential next step of faith. In it you will find encouragement, guidance, hope and answers to questions great and small.
Romans 10:17 (NIV) says:
“So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God.”
What is the Bible?
The Bible is not just a book; it is a collection of divinely inspired texts that have stood the test of time. Each book within the Bible offers unique insights and teachings. For instance, the Psalms provide comfort and express the full range of human emotions, while the Gospels recount the life and teachings of Jesus, offering a direct path to understanding His message and mission.
Moreover, the Bible serves as a moral compass, guiding us through life’s challenges. Proverbs 3:5-6 (NIV) advises:
“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
This verse reminds us to rely on God’s wisdom rather than our own, ensuring that our decisions align with His will.
The Bible is therefore not just an incredible historical record and the greatest love story ever told, but also a source of inspiration, wisdom, hope, and guidance for billions worldwide.
Truth and Purpose
As you read and meditate on the Bible, you open your heart to God's presence and allow His words to transform your life. Joshua 1:8 (NIV) encourages us:
“Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful.”
In addition, the Bible equips us to share our faith with others. 1 Peter 3:15 (NIV) states:
“But in your hearts revere Christ as Lord. Always be prepared to give an answer to everyone who asks you to give the reason for the hope that you have. But do this with gentleness and respect.”
By understanding and applying Scripture to our own lives, we can confidently and compassionately share the hope we have in Jesus.
